David N. Deutsch & Company
has no “Associates Program” per se. We seek
to hire smart, experienced Associates with broad-based
backgrounds from other firms, to provide them with a
more entrepreneurial opportunity in a more collegial
environment, and to provide them with an opportunity
to become partner in a well regarded investment banking
boutique. Associates at our firm may also have an opportunity
to participate in certain principal transactions of
the firm.
Our Associates handle a high level of responsibility
on transactions, in formulating advice
for and communicating with clients, etc. While
most traditional investment banks relegate Associates
primarily to a transaction “processing” and
support role, we encourage our
Associates to think and add to the
discussion. David is accessible, and he enjoys
mentoring Associates.
He wants to grow them into valuable, strategic-thinking
colleagues, not merely model-building subordinates.
Job Description:
In general, our Associates are responsible for organizing
and analyzing business, financial and market information,
drafting documents and communicating their analysis
to the team. They are expected to manage things, not
merely do what they’re told. They are expected
to actively participate in due diligence sessions, to
oversee the work of Analysts, and to communicate extensively
with clients and transaction counterparties.
